Topic Outline: On April 13, 2017, the Federal Government proposed legislation to legalize Cannabis across Canada by July 2018. In response to this proposed direction, Alberta has been working to develop an approach to legalization that serves to balance a range of public policy objectives. This presentation will outline key milestones in the work undertaken with the public and stakeholders to develop the Alberta Cannabis Framework, outlining what legalization will look like in Alberta in the summer of 2018. It will also identify some key next steps in the process for implementation. |
Topic Outline: With the proposed upcoming legalization of Cannabis across Canada, Landlords have many questions on how this legislation will impact them, their tenants and their rental property. This presentation will answer these questions and more. |
Topic Outline: Learn about how to address concerns with the upcoming legalization of marijuana consumption and production through education of tenants and managing new and existing leases to effectively protect rental assets. Gain and understanding of the approach that Courts or Tenancy Dispute Officers might take in addressing problems which could result from marijuana and what landlords can do now to be in the best position possible if a matter does result in court or RTDRS proceedings. |
